Windhoek: The Presidency has announced the appointment of Ambassador Berthold Haufiku as the new Chief of Protocol, effective 1 November 2025.

According to Namibia Press Agency, a statement issued on Saturday by Press Secretary Jonas Mbambo stated that Haufiku is a distinguished diplomat with over two decades of experience in international relations, bilateral cooperation, and multilateral engagement. The statement highlighted his dedication to serving Namibia in various capacities within the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation, as well as in diplomatic missions abroad.

As Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Haufiku will be responsible for advising the President and the Presidency on matters of protocol. His duties will include ensuring the highest standards of diplomatic etiquette and coordination during official engagements, state visits, and international events, Mbambo said.
