Boy dies after allegedly being run over by unlicensed driver at Kankudi

A 12-year-old boy died on Friday at Kankudi Village in the Kavango West region after an unlicensed driver hit him.

This was indicated in the police report issued on Monday that the incident happened at 10h00.

The driver of a white Toyota Corolla sedan was allegedly driving from Gava Village to Nkurenkuru and when he reached Kankudi he bumped the boy who was in the road.

The driver lost control of the vehicle in the process and collided against a tree.

They were all transported to the Nkurenkuru hospital but the boy succumbed to injuries on his way to the hospital and died.

He was identified as Matheus Ngundu and his next of kin have been informed.

The unlicensed driver was arrested and will appear in the Rundu Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
