Brave Warriors through to next round of CHAN qualifiers

The national senior football team Brave Warriors advanced to the second round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers after an unimpressive goalless draw at home against Comoros Island.

The Namibian outfit who had nothing to showcase to the masses that came to cheer them up advance to the next round of the CHAN competition due to their 2-0 aggregate score line from their win against the Island nation a week ago in Moroni.

With their Sunday match ending in a goalless score line at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, coach Bobby Samaria said he was happy with his team's performance on the day despite missing some crucial scoring chances.

We played tactical football today and I am happy that the boys followed instructions. The only issue we had was our final ball that was not perfect, said Samaria.

Namibia will now take on Madagascar in their final round of the qualification between 20 September and 18 October 2019. The winner of these home and away matches will reach the finals of the 2020 CHAN competition that will be hosted in Ethiopia.

Apart from the CHAN qualifiers the Brave Warriors will prepare for their clash with Eritrea for the 2022 International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) World Cup preliminaries between 02 to 10 September 2019 with the first clash of the qualifiers being away in Eritrea.
