Confederation of African Football (CAF) Secretary-General (SG) Veron Mosenga-Omba says the continental body will soon provide a roadmap to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) in a bid to solve the current impasse at football house.

Speaking at a press conference at the end of marathon meetings between government officials, football stakeholders and sponsors, Mosenga-Omba said he came to Namibia on a fact-finding mission as requested by CAF President, Patrice Motsepe.

“After one year of the end of the FIFA Normalisation Committee, it seems like we are facing setbacks. The CAF president sent me to come to assess the situation. I did not come to judge what people have done or what they are doing. I am just here to clearly understand what is happening in Namibia,” he said.

The CAF SG said he met with Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service Agnes Tjongarero, with whom he discussed the NFA impasse at NFA as well as the Pan African Schools Football Project, which was launched by Motsepe.

He revealed that he also met with some members of the Executive Committee and members of the Namibia Premier Football League, which he described as fruitful meetings.

Mosenga-Omba said what encouraged him most was the fact that everybody was concerned about the lack of football in Namibia.
