Cambodia Sends Gymnastics Athletes to Train in China for SEA Games Preparation

Phnom penh: Cambodia on Tuesday sent a group of four gymnasts to train in China in preparation for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games, said a news release from the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC).



According to Namibia Press Agency, Noy Phana, secretary general of the Cambodia Gymnastics Federation, stated that the all-male athletes will undergo long-term training at the Shantou Sports School in south China’s Guangdong Province. The training in China is aimed at improving the athletes’ personal abilities and technical levels as they prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December 2025 and other international competitions in the future.



Phana, who led the athletes for the training in China, mentioned that the group will receive intensive training in China for nearly five months from July 8 to November 30. Ten Vandeth, one of the gymnasts, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to train in China for the third time, emphasizing his determination to train hard to improve his ability and technical skills. He hopes to secure medals for Cambodia in the upcoming 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.



According to the NOCC, this initiative marks the third time that the Cambodia Gymnastics Federation has dispatched gymnastics athletes to China for comprehensive training.
