Beijing: Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova co-chaired the 26th session of the China-Russia Committee on Humanities Cooperation in Beijing on Saturday, committing to strengthen practical cooperation in the humanities sector.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Shen emphasized that since the 25th session last year, both nations have effectively implemented significant agreements reached by their respective heads of state, continuing to deepen humanities cooperation and organizing a series of activities that have emotionally resonated with the peoples of both countries.
Shen highlighted the success of various activities under the China-Russia Year of Culture, noting that these initiatives have elevated humanities cooperation to new heights. She further pointed out that the year 2026 will mark the beginning of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, presenting fresh opportunities for advancing China-Russia humanities cooperation over the next five years.
Shen urged both countries to enhance practical cooperation across various humanities fields, improve cooperation effectiveness comprehensively, and contribute to the development of China-Russia bilateral relations and enduring friendship.
Golikova praised the positive outcomes achieved through the Russia-China humanities cooperation mechanism, expressing Russia’s willingness to collaborate with China to promote practical cooperation and create a promising new chapter in Russia-China humanities cooperation.
The meeting also saw the signing of cooperation documents in relevant fields, further solidifying the commitment of both countries to this collaborative effort.
