Beijing: A spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office on Wednesday expressed China’s reinforced confidence in its ability to safeguard its homeland, which includes Taiwan, following the release of high-resolution satellite images.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Spokesperson Zhang Han addressed inquiries concerning the recent dissemination of satellite images of various locations in Taiwan captured by China’s commercial satellites. The images were made public on October 25, coinciding with China’s first Commemoration Day of Taiwan’s Restoration, marking 80 years since Taiwan’s return to China. The “Jilin-1” satellite constellation released eight high-resolution images depicting different areas of Taiwan, such as Taipei City, Taipei Port, and the renowned Alishan scenic area.
A statement on the official WeChat account of “Jilin-1” emphasized, “Taiwan is an inalienable part of China,” highlighting the vitality of Taiwan Province from a space perspective. This development attracted considerable attention and sparked discussions among individuals on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Zhang reiterated Taiwan’s significance as a cherished part of the motherland, emphasizing that with the enhancement of technological capabilities allowing for more precise territorial measurements, China bolsters its strength and confidence to protect its homeland and look forward to the future. She also extended an invitation to more Taiwan compatriots to visit the mainland, experience its beautiful scenery, and feel the warmth of the family.
