China-U.S. Economic and Trade Talks Yield Basic Consensus

Beijing: The trade and economic teams of China and the United States engaged in in-depth and candid discussions on significant topics of mutual concern, a senior Chinese official announced on Sunday. Li Chenggang, China international trade representative with the Ministry of Commerce and vice minister of commerce, shared these insights while briefing the press following a new round of China-U.S. economic and trade talks.



According to Namibia Press Agency, the discussions addressed several critical issues, including export controls, the U.S. Section 301 measures impacting China’s maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors, the extension of the suspension of reciprocal tariffs, and cooperation on fentanyl-related tariffs and law enforcement. Both sides participated in constructive dialogues aimed at finding solutions to the concerns raised by each country, ultimately reaching basic consensuses on these matters.
