Coca-Cola donates N.dollars 250 000 to AN

WINDHOEK: Athletics Namibia (AN) got a welcome financial boost on Thursday after Coca Cola handed over a cheque of N.Dollar 250 000.00 to the President of AN Alina Similo. Similo during her acceptance speech said she hardly has any words for such a donation but only a big thank you. ‘

Athletics Namibia is indebted to Coca Cola for such a donation’ she said. Also speaking at the same time Pottie de Bruyn, marketing manager of Coca Cola Namibia Bottling Company said it is a privilege for his company to assist a worthy cause for AN as Coca Cola has a long and healthy history with athletics in Namibia. ‘

Athletics is one of the sport codes that set the tone in terms of management and performance’ he told reporters, adding that they are proud to continue the relationship in future. Well known sports consultant and motivation speaker Quinton-Steele Botes said for the first time in Namibia’s history AN will have a full set of athletic equipment to conduct local and international competitions. ‘

Upon receiving the N.dollars 250 000 donation, AN president Alna Similo said her association is indebted to Coca-Cola.

On his part, Pottie de Bruyn, the marketing manager of Coca-Cola Namibia, said it is a privilege for his company to assist a worthy cause like AN, adding that his company and AN have a long and healthy history.
