Windhoek: In an initiative to bolster educational resources for students in Namibia, Cospharm Investment has donated textbooks and two laptops valued at N.dollars 60,000 to the library of Epukiro Secondary School. The contribution, made on Tuesday, aims to enhance the learning environment for Grade 8 to 10 students at the school.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the donation was warmly received by Meeja Meeja, the Head of Department at Epukiro SS. Meeja expressed optimism that the new materials would significantly add value to the school’s library, which has been in dire need of resources such as textbooks and novels. He emphasized the importance of such donations in motivating both students and faculty, given the school’s remote location and limited access to educational materials.
Meeja highlighted that despite the school’s challenges, Epukiro SS has maintained a strong academic performance in the region. He expressed hope that the donation would further inspire students and help them achieve their academic goals. He also pointed out the need for expanding the current library to better serve the growing student population.
Elina Veijo, the general manager of Cospharm Investment, articulated that the donation is part of the company’s broader social responsibility agenda. Cospharm prioritizes the education of Namibian children and is committed to supporting educational initiatives. The company has established a program to assist two schools annually, with a focus on both primary and secondary schools in various regions across the country.
Veijo mentioned that in the previous year, Cospharm provided books to Havana Primary School in Khomas and Okongo Junior Secondary School. She announced that for 2025, Epukiro SS in the Omaheke Region and Namibia PS in Khomas are slated to be the beneficiaries of their educational support program.
Cospharm, a generic pharmaceutical company headquartered in Windhoek, also operates in Zimbabwe and South Africa, reflecting its commitment to social responsibility beyond its primary business operations.
