COVID-19: Namibia records 81 new cases

Executive Director in the Ministry of Health and Social Services, Ben Nangombe on Sunday announced that Namibia recorded 81 new positive cases of COVID-19.

He said a total of 553 samples were tested and 81 came out positive with the gender ratio of 68 males and 13 females, between the age range of two and 46 years.

Oshakati has the highest number of recorded cases at 58, with 57 being school learners from Iipumbu Senior Secondary School and the other one is also a learner from Erunda Combined School.

Windhoek recorded eight cases while Mariental has six cases which are all inmates from Mariental Correctional Facility and contacts of a recorded case and they are all asymptomatic.

The total number of confirmed cases in Namibia now stands at 12 660 with 10 779 recoveries while active cases are at 1 748 and 133 deaths.
