The 24-year-old Namibian woman who died Tuesday morning after a sedan she was traveling in on the Okahandja-Karibib B2 road, has been identified.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha in an interview with Nampa on Thursday said the woman was identified on Wednesday as Loransha-Lynn Swartz.

Swartz was positively identified by relatives, said the police officer.

Mbeha added that the three other Angolan nationals who were with her in a sport sedan are an adult male who allegedly was the driver, a 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman.

The three sustained slight to serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in Okahandja where they received medical attention the same Tuesday afternoon, she said.

Their vehicle allegedly had a right tyre-burst which caused the driver to lose control and it veered off to the right side across the road where it overturned several times.

“Swartz was killed on the spot,” Mbeha said.

The vehicle was travelling from the direction of Karibib to Okahandja and at approximately 30 kilometres west of Okahandja at about 14h35 it overturned.

Police investigations in the matter continue.
