Decomposed body found at Samahiho village

The decomposed body of an unknown man was discovered by a cattle header on Saturday the police have said.

The discovery was done at Samahiho village in the Kavango East Region the Kavango East Police Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner BonifatiusKanyetu told Nampa on Monday.

Kanyetu said the decomposed corpse has been taken to the Rundu police mortuary awaiting identification.

If no one comes forth looking for a missing person the deputy commissioner said the information will be given to the media in order for members of the public to come forth and help the police identify the body.

Investigations in the matter continue.

In another incident in the Kavango West Region, a 35-year-old man was arrested last Friday for altering a license disc and certificate issued in respect of an imported motor vehicle from Botswana to avoid paying customs duties.

He will appear in the Rundu Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

His vehicle was impounded and police investigations into the matter continue.
