Decomposed body found hanging from tree at Otjituuo

Residents of the Otjikangotjozongarangombe village in the Otjituuo area on Sunday reeled in shock after they discovered a male decomposed body hanging from a tree in one of their grazing camps.

The Namibian Police Force's Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas in an interview with Nampa on Monday said the body has been identified as that of Nahashon Musunga.

Andreas said the 36-year-old Musunga was last seen alive last Monday on 07 October this year at Otjituuo and his body was only discovered on Sunday afternoon by a resident of the Otjikangotjozongarangombe village.

His decomposed body was found still hanging on a tree with a rope around the neck some 500 metres away from the deceased's house, said Andreas.

The deceased did not leave behind any a suicide note, and no foul play is suspected so far, she said.

Andreas said the deceased's next of kin have been informed of his death, adding that an inquest docket has been opened at the Otjituuo Police Station.

Police investigations continue.
