Kabul: Afghan authorities have initiated the construction of seven significant development projects in the southern province of Uruzgan, as part of a larger government strategy to enhance infrastructure and living conditions across the nation, the state-run Bakhtar news agency reported.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the projects encompass the construction of water canals, retaining walls, and small dams. These initiatives are designed to improve irrigation, prevent soil erosion, and offer better access to clean water for local communities.

In addition to these projects in Uruzgan, authorities in the northern Kunduz province have inaugurated a new water supply canal, which aims to provide reliable access to water for hundreds of families in that region.

The Afghan government has identified infrastructure development as a national priority and has committed to launching more projects throughout the war-affected country. These efforts are intended to stimulate local economies, generate job opportunities, and establish a foundation for long-term stability and self-reliance.
