Drug suspects nabbed in Swakopmund

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) during a police search on Friday arrested four suspects in possession of cannabis, Mandrax and crack cocaine in Mondesa, Swakopmund.

This was revealed in a crime report issued by NamPol spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi on Sunday.

In the first arrest around 14h00, a 27-year-old female and an 18-year-old male were caught in Getrud Kandanga Street in possession of 58 bankies of skunk cannabis weighing 81 grams and valued at N.dollars 4 050.

Then around 22h00 Friday, a 24-year-old man was arrested in Daureb Street after he was found in possession of 16 bankies of skunk cannabis weighing 24 grams and valued at N.dollars 1 200.

The other arrest later that night in Mondesa involved a 17-year-old boy found in possession of 20 units of crack cocaine, plus two halves and seven quarters of Mandrax tablets valued at N.dollars 2 330.

All four suspects are expected to appear before the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police investigations meanwhile continue.
