First-ever meeting of the new Namibia Football Association executive committee held yesterday

The first-ever meeting of the new Namibia Football Association (NFA) executive committee held yesterday resolved to extend the contract of the acting secretary-general Franco Cosmos until December 2020.

The meeting, held here following their election in February, was delayed by the outbreak of COVID-19 which was followed by a national lockdown.

Speaking to Nampa today, NFA president Ranga Haikali said: “The new SG will commence duties on 02 January 2021. The position will be advertised with interviews and recommendations to be done by a completely independent institution for the sake of transparency.”

He said this process should commence within the next three months.

Haikali also said the positions of financial manager and technical director will be publicly advertised while the national technical teams of the Brave Warriors and Brave Gladiators will remain as is until the end of the current NFA financial year to complete the projects put on hold due to COVID-19.
