Four suspects were arrested after allegedly being found in possession of cannabis valued at N.dollars 844 000 at the Windhoek-Rehoboth road block over the weekend.

According to a Namibian Police Force (NamPol) crime report issued on Sunday, the 17 parcels of cannabis were found during police searches conducted between 17h30 on Friday and 16h45 on Saturday.

The suspects, aged between 28 and 44, were scheduled to appear in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Meanwhile, police in the Erongo Region arrested a 32-year-old man allegedly found in possession of cannabis worth N.dollars 52 750 during a police search in Swakopmund’s Mondesa residential area on Friday.

Also in Swakopmund on Friday, a 28-year-old man was arrested in the DRC informal settlement for allegedly dealing in cannabis and for being in possession of cannabis valued at N.dollars 35 570.

Both suspects were expected to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The police in addition reported that a 24-year-old man was allegedly found in possession of mandrax tablets and cannabis valued at N.dollars 600 during police action in Mondesa on Friday. Police investigations continue.

In a separate incident, a 39-year-old male suspect was allegedly found in possession of cannabis during a police search at Onandjaba Resettlement in the Omusati Region on Saturday. The suspect was expected to appear in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

In Lüderitz, two men aged 25 were allegedly found in possession of cannabis worth N.dollars 1 768 around 19h30 on Friday. Both suspects were arrested and were expected to appear in the Lüderitz Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Police investigations continue.
