Frederick Thanks ||Kharas Inhabitants for Support

Keetmanshoop: Outgoing ||Kharas Governor, Aletha Frederick, has expressed her gratitude to the inhabitants, business owners, corporate entities, and the ||Kharas Regional Council for their unwavering support during her tenure. Frederick made these remarks at Keetmanshoop on Monday, where she handed over the leadership role to the new governor, Dawid Gertze.



According to Namibia Press Agency, Frederick acknowledged the significant impact of the community’s response to her calls for assistance and their commitment to the well-being of the region’s communities. She emphasized the invaluable contributions that have made a tangible difference in the lives of many individuals, expressing her eternal gratitude for the support and understanding received during her service.



Frederick conveyed her belief that the incoming governor will find the same spirit of cooperation and dedication. She highlighted the need for a multifaceted approach in governance, anchored in the principles of inclusivity, cohesion, and traditional leadership, as crucial for unlocking the region’s full potential.



She stressed that the position of governor requires serving everyone without discrimination and achieving objectives through collaboration and open communication. Frederick urged for a unified vision for a prosperous future, emphasizing the need for synergy and a collaborative spirit among all stakeholders.



Frederick also discussed the vast expectations placed on a governor, which extend beyond the formal mandate of overseeing government programs and projects. She noted that governors are looked upon for development, socio-economic transformation, and solutions to challenges such as unemployment and hunger, despite the office lacking a dedicated budget to address these needs.



Appointed by the late President Hage Geingob in April 2020, Frederick’s term concluded in June this year. She expressed her eternal indebtedness to Geingob, acknowledging his vision and belief in her capabilities, which paved the way for her opportunity to serve as governor. Frederick concluded by wishing peace to Geingob’s memory.
