Gladiators will improve against Eswatini

The Brave Gladiators lost to a quality Zambian side and will surely improve for the final Group C match against Eswatini at the COSAFA Womens Championship.

Namibia lost 3-0 to Zambia and takes third place in Group C with one point and will now use the defeat to enhance preparations for Eswatini.

“It was a very good first half, the only problem was the goal, which was a result of lack of concentration and application, but all in all I credit my team on the way they fought and closed Zambia down and forced them to resort to long range shots.” Jacobs assess his team’s defeat.

The Gladiators will now face Eswatini on Tuesday 05 October at 15h30, for their final group match.

“One point from two matches against two quality teams is fair enough for me because the positive I take out of all this is the match fitness we are building up. A match is the best yard stick to measure the level of fitness and I believe in our case, we need to up our game in terms of competing against quality teams and keeping the awareness”, states Jacobs.

The coach adds that a win in the final match will be vital.

“A win is always a morale booster, so we will recover, get back onto the pitch and go into the match against Eswatini with a winning spirit” Jacobs elaborate.

Uganda won 5-1 against Eswatini earlier on Sunday to go second on four points two behind Zambia.
