Gobabis residents found guilty of raping minor

The three men accused of raping a 13-year-old girl on 28 July 2015 at corridor4, Aminus,Reserve in the Gobabis district, were on Wednesday found guilty on a charge of gang raping in the Windhoek High Court.

The three men, Abram Keinamseb,23,Maatava Gamseb,33 and Ricardo Siskae,23 were found guilty in a judgement handed down Acting High Court Judge Orben Sibeya on Wednesday afternoon.

The three accused were in the same vain not found guilty on the alternative count of combating of immoral practices Act 21 of 1980.

The three accused were allegedly at Tse-tse house the victim and couple of friends were socialising when accused one Keinamseb, grabbed the victim by the arm and led her torward the bushes and accused two, Maatava and accused three, Siskae followed them and raped her in the same bush area.

The accused were arrested on 28 July 2015.

The trial is postponed to 3 December for submission before in preparation for a sentence.

The three accused remained in the Windhoek Correctional Facility.

The State-funded defence lawyers represented the three accused were, Kamwi Kalundu, Mervin Kwala and Milton Engelbrecht while the State lawyer Palmer Khumalo preceded the case.
