Nambili said other government workers in the constituencies of Otjiwarongo, Okahandja together with Omatako, Otavi, Okakarara and Grootfontein all voted for the industrial action against government.

He said the voting exercise took place on Thursday and Friday countrywide on whether or not to strike, after the trade unions representing workers reached a deadlock on the wage negotiations with government.

The workers are demanding a salary increase of nine per cent, transport allowance of 10 per cent and another nine per cent on housing benefits.
