WINDHOEK: The captain of the senior national football team, Ronald Ketjijere says the team will stick to its possession football strategy in its 2018 International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) World Cup preliminary round.

Namibia will play Gambia in Banjul on Friday.

A statement availed to Nampa by the Namibia Football Association (NFA) quotes the captain as saying the Brave Warriors will make hay in their plot of achieving a positive start to their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers when they play Gambia in the crucial preliminary round first leg match in Banjul.

Ketjijere said they want good results by the second leg in Windhoek.

The 18-man Brave Warriors team called up last week is now in Banjul for the all-important match and the University of Pretoria Football Club player adds that the Brave Warriors will also adopt an offensive approach to the game as they will go all out to put the opposition under pressure.

Namibia will play its return leg of the 2018 World Cup qualifier on 13 October at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

The Brave Warriors were last active on 05 September when they lost 0-2 to Senegal in the 2017 African Nations Cup (Afcon) qualifiers.
