Tel aviv: The Israeli military announced that it executed an airstrike in northern Lebanon, specifically targeting a senior Hamas militant.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the Israeli military’s statement refrained from revealing the identity or status of the individual targeted in the operation. However, Israel’s Army Radio, a state-owned outlet, identified the target as Maharan Mustafa Bajur, who served as the head of planning in Hamas’ construction department, and reported that he was killed during the strike.

Lebanese broadcaster LBCI provided additional details, stating that the airstrike was directed at a vehicle in the town of Al-Ayrouniyah, situated near the northern city of Tripoli.

Despite the establishment of a ceasefire agreement in November 2024, which put an end to 14 months of cross-border hostilities, Israel has continued to conduct occasional strikes in Lebanon.
