The MTC Salute Boxing Academy will host its Unomasa Champions Collide Boxing Bonanza on 21 May 2022 in Otjiwarongo in the Otjozondjupa Region.

The boxing bonanza will see Salute’s favourite sons Nathaniel ‘Natty’ Kakololo and Lukas ‘The Demolisher’ Ndafoluma making a return to the ring.

Kakololo last fought in December 2021 when he beat Romeo Makwakwa of Malawi in a unanimous decision.

He will headline the Unomasa Champions Collide Boxing Bonanza when he challenges for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan Africa featherweight title against Kasimu Hamad Haji of Tanzania.

Speaking during the announcement of the event here on Monday, Kankololo said Haji is a good boxer but he trusts himself.

“I will win that vacant title. If Kasimu is not ready the fight will end early, but if he is ready we will have an exciting fight which I am still going to win,” he said.

Otjiwarongo Mayor, Candy Shivute stated that boxing is a loveable sport and everyone in Otjiwarongo and nearby towns is looking forward to the event.

“We are happy to see boxing stables working together and come the day of the event the venue will be packed to capacity because people from the surrounding towns will come witness boxing in the town of Otjiwarongo,” said Shivute.

MTC Manager of Corporate Affairs John Ekongo on his part said: “We believe that sports should not be monopolised in the Khomas Region, hence the reason MTC supports the hosting of events outside Windhoek. Events hosted outside the city will create opportunities for kids in these regions to network.”

The event will be held at Paresis Park.
