An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Murayi village in the Kavango West Region by a 25-year-old suspect on Saturday.

This is contained in the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) weekend crime report availed to the media on Sunday.

According to the report, the alleged incident took place on the evening of Saturday and the suspect who is known to the family has not yet been arrested.

Police investigations into the matter continue.

In an unrelated incident still in Kavango West Region, a 46-year-old man was arrested on Friday for being in possession of alleged 20 parcels of cannabis at Halali village valued at N.dollars 87 900.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
