Khomas NamPol defeats Cow in exciting volleyball fixture

The City of Windhoek (CoW) Volleyball Club went down 3-0 against Khomas NamPol in a match that was the highlight of the Central Volleyball Association (CVA) League this weekend.

The CVA hosted its matches on Saturday at the Patrick Iyambo Police College and the University of Namibia (UNAM) courts.

The CoW, who made several new signings this season and are now a team to beat, went into the match hoping for their first victory against a team they have struggled to beat over the past three seasons. The theme would continue on Saturday at the Patrick Iyambo Police College, where Khomas NamPol once again showed their dominance in a thrilling encounter.

Other fixtures that were also played over the weekend saw league newcomers AfroCat C defeat Namibia Defence Force (NDF) B 3-0, while AfroCat D overcame Heritage 3-1.

Kudos, who are also an exciting team to watch, continued with their impressive performance as they overcame Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) 3-0.

NDF A recorded a 3-0 win over Kings, while NDF B redeemed themselves in their second match of the day as they beat the home team UNAM 3-2 after five sets in one of the entertaining matches played at the UNAM court.

Afrocat C went on to register their second win of the day after demolishing Heritage with a 3-0 sets win. Khomas NamPol also registered another win after beating Kudos 3-0.

Meanwhile NDF A handed Afrocat D a 3-0 defeat.

In the women’s category, Kudos beat Otjozondupa NamPol 3-0, while Khomas NamPol Volleyball Club recorded their first win of the day with a 3-0 win over NUST.

Khomas NamPol recorded their second win came in a derby between the two police teams where they outclassed Otjozondjupa NamPol 3-1 at the Patrick Iyambo Police College.

Results from the Far North Volleyball Association opening tournament saw Oshana NamPol beat Six Stars 3-2 in the women’s category final, while Nakapele won by a 2-0 margin against Greenside in third place play-off.

The male’s category saw Namibia Correctional Service winning 3-0 against Medipark in the final, while in the third-place play-off Six Stars defeated Greenside 2-0.
