Walvis Bay-based Namibia Rugby Premier League outfit, First National Bank (FNB) Kudus, continued with their impressive form of the season when they defeated FNB UNAM 34-12 at the UNAM Stadium on Saturday.

Kudus travelled to Windhoek for their ninth game of the season and showed no sign of slowing down as they dominated the home team from the start to the end.

The visitors ran in six tries compared to their counterparts’ two to make it two wins on the road in a space of just seven days. Their last away win was against Rehoboth a week ago.

Against UNAM, their six tries came from Chad Plato, Paolo Andrews, Joshua Jacobs, Zwandre Viviers (two) and Lorenzo Calaca. Out of the six tries, Plato only managed to convert twice from the spot, while UNAM’s tries were scored by Darryl Wellman and Tonderai Ndudzo.

Aljarreau Zaahl only converted one of the UNAM tries.

Other matches played on Saturday in the different towns saw FNB Wanderers travelling to Rehoboth, where they faced FNB Rehoboth, who got the better of them on the day with a 37-31 score line, while another Rehoboth-based outfit, FNB Reho Falcon, did not use the home advantage to their favour as FNB Gootfontein ran havoc on them, scoring nine tries and converting seven times from the spot for a 59-10 score line.

Meanwhile, FNB Western Suburbs had the better of Trustco United, who has found the going tough this season, as they were defeated 53-9 at their home ground in Olympia at the Trustco United Sport Field.
