Lady May recovering after motorbike accident

Windhoek: Namibian award-winning artist, Lady May, real name Martha Namundjembo, is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital after she was involved in a road accident around noon last Thursday.

The performer and singer suffered a lung injury as well as her femur and hip in the accident and she has undergone an operation on Friday. Speaking on Behalf of the family, Hilda Basson-Namundjembo confirms the accident. Lady May was bumped by a delivery vehicle while on her motorbike at a four way stop and the driver of the vehicle alleged that he did not see Lady may coming from one of the stops. She adds that the singer’s condition is stable and she is responding well to treatment.

“The Namundjembo family are grateful for the support, good wishes and prayers. We ask you continue to keep her in prayer,” Basson-Namundjembo. The musician is not in a state to receive any visitors except the family. Lady May musical start started to rise in 2004 with her first album, Kamali that won her a Sanlam NBC Music Award. She also represented Namibia in the 7th season of Big Brother Africa and emerged the last woman standing.
