Leader of Oukwanyama Traditional Authority issued certificates of responsibility to several village headmen on the occasion held here yesterday

The leader (Ohamba) of Oukwanyama Traditional Authority (OTA), Martha Mwadinomho waKristian yaNelumbu, issued certificates of responsibility to several village headmen on the occasion held here yesterday.

Former Namibian Higher Commissioner to Botswana, Hadino Hishongwa, was also issued with a certificate, after yaNelumbu last month appointed him as the senior headman of the OTA's Omhedi District.

Hishongwa succeeds the late Johannes Moshana, who had been the senior headman of the district before his death in February this year.

The other village headmen who received certificates are Olavi Kangadjela (Ongudi), Oiva Mbubi (Onanime), Gideon Hamukwaya (Iilagati), Djeimo Popyeinawa (Engela), Merjam Kautwima (Ongha A), David Amon (Epalala), Ruben Jona (Ombalu) and Ndaitwa Wilhelm (Onahalongo), Natanael Weyulu (Oipapakane), Hashiti Moses (Omainda) and Paulus Kamanya (Enghudi).

A member of yaNelumbu's advisory committee, Likius Kakololo, told Nampa that all the headmen in question are already in charge of their respective villages but had been operating without appointing certificates.
