Magic Ladies crowned Super League Champs

Tura Magic Ladies were on Saturday afternoon crowned champions of the inaugural Skorpion Zinc NFA Women's Super League after an impressive 4-1 victory against Galz & Goals while Khomas NAMPOL finished second with a 5-0 win over Namib Daughters.

Magic came into the final round of matches with an unassailable lead of 47 points while their opponents Galz & Goals in third place on 32 points and Khomas NAMPOL in second on 42 points.

In the end, the star-studded Tura Magic defeated Galz 4-1 thanks to goals from Anna Shikusho, Juliana Blou, Millicent Hikuam and Agnes Kauzuu while Lease Hanse scored for Galz.

In another match on Saturday, Khomas Nampol beat Namib Daughters 5-0 to cement second spot on 45 points from 18 matches of the season. Khomas Nampol finished second on 45 points from their 18 matches, while Galz & Goals came third on 35 points.

Magic whose blemish in the season is their two draws and on 50 points, received N$ 40 000 while NAMPOL got N$ 20 000 and Galz N$12 000.

Power Angels finished the season in fourth place with 30 points followed by Namib Daughters from Swakopmund with 24 points. UNAM Bokkies occupy sixth spot with 21 points followed by Rightway Ladies with 16 points. Girls Football Academy are third from bottom in eighth place on 11 points while Gobabis-based Omaheke Queens are tenth on the table with 10 points. NUST Babes holds up the table with nine points from 18 matches.

Tura Magic's Shikusho is the league's top goal scorer with 29 goals; Ina Katuta of Khomas NAMPOL is on 22 goals and Beverly Uueziua of Galz & Goals in third place on 21 goals and Memory Ngonda of Tura Magic fourth with 20 goals.

The League which is sponsored by Skorpion Zinc to a tune of N$ 750 000 received an additional N$ 250 000 from FIFA bringing the total amount to 1 million. The agreement is said to be an annual contract, with the possibility of renewal.
