Makari now deputy MD at O and L Leisure

Windhoek: Terence Makari has been appointed to the position of deputy managing director at O and L Leisure, effective as of August 1, 2015.

Terence holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Namibia, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from the University of South Africa and a Master of Business Management and Administration from the University of Stellenbosch.

Makari served as a Commissioner on the Employment Equity Commission board for the past three years and has recently been nominated and duly elected as a board member at the Annual General Meeting of the Namibia Employers’ Federation.

“I would like to thank all at NBL for the great memories and the growth that I have experienced through our engagements and time at NBL. I remain forever grateful for the privilege to have known and worked with everyone and wish all our passionate people at NBL, and the business, the best for the future.

“In relation to my new assignment, I’m grateful for the confidence shown in me with this appointment and look forward to contributing towards the success of O and L Leisure and ensuring that the business delivers on the set strategic objectives that will enable the Group to achieve our Vision 2019 goals,” said Makari.

O and L Group Executive Chairman, Sven Thieme congratulated Makari on his new role and said that the O and L Group “shares joy and pride in people like Makari, who make use of the development opportunities within the group, to grow in their careers and in so doing create opportunities for themselves and others to succeed”.

The O and L Group says it is dedicated to growing its workforce in line with the company’s theme of “Creating a future, enhancing life”. O and L said that in turn employees are presented with an opportunity to grow and move within the group, thereby advancing their careers and making the most of creating a future for themselves, while adding immense value to the Group’s operating companies.
