Man allegedly commits suicide near Ondangwa Police Station

A man, whose identity is unknown, allegedly shot and killed himself with a 7.65 millimetre pistol near the Ondangwa Police Station on Wednesday.

According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s report issued on Tuesday, the deceased, a 51-year old Namibian truck driver, allegedly shot himself at about 13h58 near the parking bay of the police station after parking his truck.

The report said the deceased, who hails from the Oneshoko village in the Oshana Region, was rushed to Onandjokwe State Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries some minutes later.

The motive for the alleged suicide is unknown and police investigations continue.
