A man whose age is unknown is reportedly in a critical condition at the Rundu State Hospital after he was allegedly hit with a brick to the forehead.

This is contained in the weekend crime report availed by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday which indicated that the incident happened on Saturday night at Smart Bar in Nkurenkuru.

According to the police: “the victim who is a teacher and resident of Mutengo village in the Kavango West Region was brought to the Nkurenkuru Hospital in an unconscious state and badly injured on the forehead as he was allegedly hit with a brick by another man.”

He was transferred to the Rundu State Hospital where he is in a critical condition.

The man who assaulted him is not yet arrested and police investigations in the matter continue.

In an unrelated incident, the police in Kavango West Region are investigating the death of a 26-year-old woman from Rupara Village.

It is alleged that the woman who crossed the river into Angola to visit her mother, collapsed while in that country on Saturday.

“She was brought back to her family in Rupara who then took her to the Rupara health facility in a wheelchair and was declared dead upon her arrival,” the report said.
