Man allegedly shot dead in Otjiwarongo

A 29-year-old man was on Sunday allegedly shot dead by unknown suspect inside his house at Ombili informal settlement at Otjiwarongo.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)'s Otjozondjupa Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Naukalemo Andreas in an interview with Nampa on Monday said the man has been identified as Collin Skrywer.

The police officer said Skrywer had just returned back to Otjiwarongo on Saturday from a farm he used to work.

On Sunday at about 19h30, Skrywer was found by his sister dead with a gunshot wound in the left side of the chest inside his house and she alerted the police.

On our arrival at the scene we found his face also covered with blood, while the body lying on the ground. Therefore, only the postmortem will be able tell us whether his face was also attacked, she said.

No arrest has been made in connection with the incident and police investigations continue.
