Man allegedly shot to death in Oshikoto

A 59-year-old man died after he was shot with a pistol during a fight at Farm Six in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday.

A weekend crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Sunday said the incident occurred at around 15h42 when a fight allegedly erupted between the deceased and the 37-year-old suspect, during which the suspect shot the deceased once in the stomach.

The deceased has been identified as Hauwombo Herman and his next of kin have been informed of his death.

In an unrelated matter, a 27-year-old man, identified as Frans Paai, died after he was stabbed with a knife at Kanaan A in Gobabis on Friday at around 17h40.

According to the report, a quarrel erupted between Paai and the suspect, whose age was not provided, which turned into a physical fight and led to the alleged stabbing of the deceased.

The suspect allegedly handed himself over to the police.

Paai’s next of kin have been informed of his death.

In addition, an eight-year-old girl allegedly drowned after jumping into a water canal at Oshitutuma village in the Omusati Region on

Saturday at around 17h00.

The minor was identified as Selma Benisius and her next of kin have been informed of her death.
