Man arrested for mandrax possession at Outjo

A 21-year-old male suspected mandrax dealer was arrested on Sunday evening at Outjo after he was allegedly found with a total of 90 full tablets of mandrax with a street value of N.dollars 10 800.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha on Monday told Nampa in an interview that the man who was traveling from Otjiwarongo to Outjo, was being monitored by the police until his arrest.

We had information about his drug dealing activities, and upon his arrival at Outjo, we called him inside the police station for a body search, Mbeha said.

After the suspect was searched inside the police station at about 19h30, a total of 90 full tablets of mandrax were found on his body, Mbeha added.

The suspect was then arrested and expected to appear in the Outjo Magistrate's Court on charges of possession and/or dealing in drugs on Tuesday.
