A 39-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region after he was found with an unlicensed firearm.
According to a Namibian Police report, the 39-year-old suspect was arrested during a police operation at around 19h00, when he was found with the unlicensed pistol and ammunition.
In another incident, the police in Kavango West are investigating a case of theft after a bag containing valuables was stolen from a vehicle at a local supermarket in Nkurenkuru on Friday.
According to the police, the incident happened around 16h00.
“It is alleged that a bag containing a laptop, hard drive and wallet was stolen,” it said, adding the items are valued at N.dollars 13 267.90.
No recovery or arrest has been made and police investigations continue.
