A 25-year-old man was brutally assaulted by three men when he tried to stop a fight at Ongwediva in the Oshana Region on Saturday.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in a crime report on Monday said the three men had allegedly initiated a fight with a different man. When the victim tried to intervene, they turned on him and started assaulting him. One of the three allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the shoulder.

He was rushed to the Oshakati State Hospital for treatment and was in a stable condition.

“One of the suspects was arrested and the other two fled the scene. The suspects are not known by the victim but might be identified if seen by the victim,” the crime report said.
