A 48-year-old man died after allegedly being attacked by a mob at Ekokofi village in the Ohangwena Region on Tuesday.

A crime report issued by the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) on Wednesday said the deceased has been identified as Nghishimandalulilwa Shimuleni from Ekokofi village.

He was reportedly hit over the head with sticks and died on the spot.

“It is reported that a mob fight broke out. A number of persons of interest were rounded up and taken in for questioning by the police,” said the report.

Police investigations continue.
