Man dies and brother injured in accident on B2 road

A car accident on the B-2 road cost a life of one of two brothers who were travelling together on Tuesday evening at around 20h00.

A police report issued by Erongo Regional Crime Investigations Coordinator Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu on Wednesday, alleged that the two siblings, 35 year old (driver) and the 39 year old deceased identified as Festus Dumeni where driving from Usakos towards the direction of Arandis when the driver lost control of the vehicle, hitting it against the walls of the bridge.

According to the police, the occupants each suffered serious injuries and were attended to by the Motor Vehicle Accident Ambulance as well as State paramedics from the Usakos State hospital.

The deceased died whilst being transported to the Usakos State Hospital and the driver was transferred to a Windhoek Hospital from Usakos, for further medical attention, in a serious but stable condition.

The body of the deceased person was taken to Walvis Bay Police Mortuary for a post mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

The deceased's next of kin were informed.

A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
