Man dies in accident near Ongwediva

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Ongwediva in the Oshana Region have opened a culpable homicide case docket on Wednesday night, following the death of Paulus Katau Kuutondokwa in a road crash.

Confirming the accident to Nampa on Thursday, Warrant Officer Frieda Shikole-Ashiyana said it occurred around 215 near the Adolf settlement on the Ongwediva-Ondangwa main road on the same night.

Shikole-Ashiyana pointed out that Kuutondokwa, 42, died on the spot after his Toyota Corolla collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota Yaris.

Kuutondokwa was a resident of Okandjedi in Oshakati and travelled from Adolf towards Ongwediva, while the driver of the Yaris, identified as Johanna Wayambekange Munalye, travelled from the opposite direction.

The deceased next of kin are informed. According to the Police, Munalye, 23, is a resident of Efidi lOmulunga in the Ongwediva area.

She is hospitalised at Oshakati Intermediate Hospital in stable condition, Shikole-Ashiyana noted.
