A 27-year-old man died on Sunday after he was hit by a car on the B10 Nkurenkuru-Rundu road.

According to the Namibian Police Force crime report issued Sunday, an unknown motor vehicle hit the pedestrian, identified as Hausiku Joseph Sondaha, at around 03h00.

He died on the spot.

It is alleged that the unknown vehicle involved did not stop at the scene and just drove away.

Sondaha’s next of kin have been informed and police investigations continue.

In an unrelated matter at Rundu, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 53-year-old man at Ndama informal settlement on Thursday.

The suspect, who is known, is yet to be arrested.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
