Members RDP to elect delegates for representing the region at the opposition party’s upcoming Electoral College

ONGWEDIVA: Members of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) in the Oshikoto Region held a one-day meeting at Omuthiya on Saturday to elect 10 delegates who will represent the region at the opposition party’s upcoming Electoral College.

The RDP will hold its Electoral College in Windhoek on 20 September to elect its 96 candidates for the National Assembly elections at the end of this year.

RDP Secretary for Information in the Oshikoto Region, Leonard Hauwanga said the RDP Regional Committee meeting of Saturday was supervised by Tomas Ndiwakalunga and Ismael Shailemo, who are the two members of the national leadership assigned to the Oshikoto Region.

The other delegates are Ndahambelela Ndeulita, Natangwe Kalongela, Josefina Kaukungwa, Sam Daniel, Rachel Ndungula, Fimaneka Kalenga, Moses Shingo, Patrik Agrub and Epafras Nghinamundowa.

The Oshikoto Regional Committee of the RDP leadership said they are proud and satisfied with the election process and the candidates who were elected to represent the region at the Electoral College.

WINDHOEK; A young man died at Okapya village in the Omusati Region on Saturday after he was allegedly stabbed to death during a heated argument over a bottle of Castello ginger fizz wine.

The spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Sergeant Slogan Matheus told a media briefing here yesterday that 21-year-old Sackeus Ndeshimona was allegedly stabbed with an Okapi pocket knife in the chest.

He died on the spot.

It is alleged that the suspected killer, Oscar Matheus (also 21years old) and the victim (Ndeshimona) were drinking together at a shebeen at Ombutilo in Okapya village, when an argument erupted between the two young men.

According to the Police, the argument that led to the alleged stabbings and death started after both men (suspect and victim) put money together and bought a bottle of Castello wine.
