Minister Joel Kaapanda calls on business community to support Iilyateko CS

IILYATEKO: Information and Communication Technology Minister Joel Kaapanda has called on members of the business community within the Onesi Education Circuit in the Omusati Region to support the Iilyateko Combined School (CS).

He made the call while handing over building materials donated by MultiChoice Nambia to that school on Monday.

The building materials are worth N.dollars 5 000, and include iron bars, a door and its frame.

Some learners of that school are currently being taught in a camping tent and others in shack classrooms provided by the parents.

The school obtained first position in last year’s Grade 10 examination results in the Onesi Circuit.

Kaapanda said the school is performing well and has passed with more than 80 per cent in the Grade 10 examinations last year.

The minister also appealed to learners to continue working hard in order to pass their exams with high marks.

The school was established in 1972 by the Roman Catholic Church mission, and currently has 550 learners in pre-primary up to Grade 10.
