Minister of Environment and Tourism has encouraged children of Tsintsabis Combined School in the Oshikoto Region’s Guinas Constituency to take education seriously and study hard

Minister of Environment and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta, has encouraged children of Tsintsabis Combined School in the Oshikoto Region's Guinas Constituency to take education seriously and study hard.

Speaking at the school's annual 'Back to School' campaign ceremony on Saturday, Shifeta also urged the learners to shun the tendency of dropping out before completing their studies.

Situated 83 kilometres (km) east of Oshivelo and 62km north of Tsumeb, Tsintsabis Combined School was established in 1993 by current Guinas Consistency Councillor, Betty Kaula, for the local San community children who had no access to education for decades.

The parents who addressed Saturday's campaign spoke of many children's lack of aspiration to complete their education.

Shifeta then emphasised that only through taking their studies seriously will the San children become leaders and professionals.
