Month-to-month inflation

The month-to-month inflation for the northern parts of the country increased by 0,5 per cent in November 2019 compared to 0,1 per cent recorded in October 2019, the latest Zonal Consumer Price Index (ZCPI) shows.

This is according to ZCPI results released by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) yesterday.

The eastern, southern and western parts of the county experienced a decline in the inflation rate at 0,01 per cent in November 2019 compared to 0,2 per cent the previous month, while the Windhoek area for November 2019 stood at negative 0,1 per cent from 0,2 per cent in October 2019.

The ZCPI is a compilation of all administrative regions of the country grouped into three zones, with each zone considered as one geographic area.

Meanwhile, monthly inflation in the Namibia Consumer Price Index (NCPI) for November 2019 stood at 0,1 per cent, a decrease from 0,2 per cent in October 2019.

The decrease emanated from the transport, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, health, food and non-alcoholic beverages and housing, water, electricity and gas sub groups.
