The MS Boudicca cruise ship from Britain yesterday became the first passenger liner to dock berth 9 of the newly constructed container terminal at the port of Walvis Bay.

The ship which is on a five months world tour, departed from Dover, in the United Kingdom early October.

Its captain Juha Sartela expressed to the media during a briefing on the ship, that he and his crew members are privileged to have been the first passenger liner to dock at the new terminal.

The ship is about 206 metres long, 28 metres wide with 370 crew members and has a maximum capacity of 850 passengers.

There are currently over 500 passengers on the cruise ship, whose next destination is Luderitz, before leaving Namibia for Cape Town.
