Namibia beats Nepal in tri-series

Namibia put behind their disappointing loss to Scotland on Sunday to beat Nepal by 40 runs on Monday in the second match of their six One-Day-International (ODI) matches in the tri-series.

Namibia won the toss and opted to bat first before posting 220 runs all out in 47.3 overs.

Man of the match, Nicol Loftie Eaton, scored 60 runs off 70 balls and Divan la Cock knocked 41 runs from 32 balls.

In response, Nepal only managed to score 180 runs all out from 46.5 overs, with Aarif Sheikh hitting 50 not out from 84 balls and Dev Khanal scored 34 runs from 65 balls.

In terms of bowling, Jan Frylinck, David Wise and Bernard Scholtz took two wickets each, with Ruben Trumpelmann taking a single wicket and captain Gerhard Erasmus taking one wicket and two runouts.

The tri-series is taking place in Scotland and includes the hosts, who face Nepal on Wednesday before facing Namibia on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Craig Williams became the first Namibian to pass the 5 000 run milestone when he knocked off 21 runs from 42 runs.
