Namibia recognises the aspirations of the African Union (AU) African Charter on values and principles of public service and administration, which aims to ensure the promotion of values and principles governing it.

This was according to Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, during the opening of the State Parties Assessment Tool (SPAT) Pilot Program in Swakopmund yesterday.

“SPAT seeks to complement the reporting guidelines by enabling the implementation of the provisions of the charter to be assessed and measured in an easier and quicker but more objective, qualitative and quantitative manner.

This would provide the Government with a tool to conduct an objective assessment of how effectively Namibia is implementing the charter and provide a quantitative score of the results of such assessment,” the prime minister emphasised.

The four-day workshop, which is being facilitated by the AU Commission, started on Monday and is expected to end today.
